My kids love climbing at parks and my youngest is not a quite 3 yet. I thought I would feel more comfortable with them wearing harnesses, which I... did. But they didn’t want to wear them. They loved the bouldering side. The front desk associate did a great job with orientation and everyone was very welcoming. We’ll definitely try it again when the boys get older!read more

No top rope or lead routes, mostly a bouldering focused gym with high routes to boulder on. There are auto belays though. I went on a Wednesday... night and it was busy, but mostly club kids which is always cool to see. Almost - 1 ⭐ cuz the club kids kept showing me up on my routes 🤣read more

I’ve been going to Focus Climbing Center for over 3 years and it is phenomenal. The membership is well worth it. There is a massive bouldering wall... ranging from slab to roof, 8 auto-belays and workout equipment. I highly recommend checking this place out for both bouldering and rope! Thank you for creating a community that I’m proud to be a part of!!!read more

I've been climbing here since August 2023 (I'm writing this in November 2023 for reference) and I have so much fun every time I go to focus (3ish... times a week). Extremely friendly employees and a very peaceful atmosphere in the gym. I also appreciate that this place is a small business and not a national chain, you can certainly feel the love for the place from the owner and employees.read more

Loved this place. Joe the owner, is amazing, he personally showed my sons the ropes (literally) as well as the free climbing areas. I like this place... compared to other indoor rock climbing because they have a weight training section. I’m not a climber, so while the kiddos are there climbing I was able to get a great weight workout. Good areas for waiting as well. The bathrooms are very clean and they have offer a really good hand lotion after all the dryness the chalk causes. Thank you Joe. We want to come back soon.😎read more

ORIGINAL POST: My wife and I were looking for something for one of my sons (14 years old) to do through the summer, and he'd recently gone wall... climbing and enjoyed it. After an extensive search throughout southern Phoenix, Chandler, Tempe, Mesa, etc. (that included online and in-person visits) the Focus Climbing Center was easily the best location that we found: with both wall-climbing (individual) and bouldering on constantly changing / updated walls, along with available classes, all supported by the friendliest staff [and community] you could hope for - this location is one of our favorite businesses in the area, a regular stop for our family, and a must-stop for current climbers (beginner to very experienced), and future climbers alike.UPDATE: as school started, we took our kids out of climbing (timing and school sports constraints) and FOCUS Climbing to stop taking out payments. However, there was some confusion and the payments/withdrawals didn't stop. We did hear back from Focus Climbing and after a couple of months of this, on Nov. 10, 2023 I requested a refund. We heard back a couple of days later, received a refund for November, and believe this was sorted out on the back end as well (so it won't happen again).read more
